Does the ISP (Internet Service Provider) make a difference when racing online?
The ISP makes a HUGE difference!! You would be amazed at how unreliable some ISP’s really are, dropped message packets, lots of latency (slow messages). You don’t notice these problems too much when browsing the Web. When a message gets lost, it gets sent again, and when there’s a lot of latency pages just load a little slower. These things are real problems with a real time game, when you are counting on millisecond responses. If you can, try a different Internet connection or a higher speed connection.
