Does the iPod Classic break easily? If so what is the average working age?
Yes, the hard drive is more vulnerable than the flash-based players because it has moving parts. However, I’ve had my Classic for a year and a half, and have even dropped it a couple of times, and have had no problems with it. Keeping it in a protective case as much as possible will help prevent most major damage. I also suggest buying the extended warranty (AppleCare).
