Does the Iowa State Police Association call businesses and individuals soliciting donations?
Yes. The Iowa State Police Association has for many years conducted a sponsor program in which the public is contacted by telephone and invited to help support our organization through a small financial contribution. This project is conducted on the association’s behalf by a professional fundraiser, one whose services we have used for several years. The activity is duly registered with the Iowa Attorney General’s office. We have chosen to work with a professional organization because, especially in the current economy, such an undertaking is a large and costly effort, something well beyond our resources in time, facilities, equipment and staff.
