Does the iodine test for starch work for Glycogen (animal starch) as well??

yes it does. Glycogen is a polysaccharide, as is starch. An iodine test will reveal a starch by turning the substance a blue-black colour– blue-brown with glycogen. In both cases the iodine combines with a carbohydrate polymer in each substance to form a large complex which appears its respective colour.
