Liability coverage pays for ANYTHING that you have to pay out of your pocket, and this includes lost of wages. Make sure that you have receipts for anything you have to pay out of pocket. Get your employer to type a company-head letter stating what you get paid, and tell them you have missed work because of this. If talking to the supervisor’s of Mercury doesn’t work out, you can contact your state’s Department of Insurance, and they can help you with this case. They help out insurers in any problems arising from the insurance companies. Trust me, Mercury will take care of you after you tell them you’ll call the DOI. I assume that you have Mercury you live in California. Here’s the Department of Insurance’s website… http://www.insurance.ca.

since they are bickering about who is at fault, it may be harder to get what you need from them. they SHOULD pay you for lost wages that are due to the accident. they SHOULD be paying for a rental car. best advice, be NICE to the adjuster, be patient and ask for what you need them to do. If after all that you cannot get anywhere, ask for the supervisor in the claims dept. I have never dealt with Mercury but it sounds like a company i would want to stay away from. A good company is not going to bicker over such small things.

Whether they pay for last wages depends on the type of coverage that the paying party has
