If you play a match against an Insane AI, watch the replay afterward, and click on one of his units, you will see that the Insane AI’s minerals increase by 7 each time a worker brings minerals to the command center. Needless to say, this allows him to build offensive units a lot earlier, and in bigger quantities than you.
