Does the idea of the development of psychosocial help fit different types and size of organisation?
Very much so: Many interventions dont travel well between public, private and NGO sectors, between large and small organisations and indeed between different national cultures. Taking the example of organisational culture, its falls in the Cartesian/positivist trap of thinking there is something there that is independent of the organisation. This is a problem as measurement only tends to work well in large, fairly homogenous organisations where its possible to attack the organisation with some from of propriety questionnaire. Where there is a great deal of diversity in an organisation, for any reason, the results may look OK but actually flatter to deceive inasmuch as they appear to say something when they dont. Planning organisational management on this basis is dangerous. Somewhat like flying a plane with an altimeter that gives a semi random output. Now of course the big consultancies and other purveyors of this generic nonsense will talk to you about normative data bases and about
