Other flexible chamber/stretcher manufacturers use polyurethanes (PU) for the pressure boundary of their units. The SOS Hyperlite is made with silicone rubber instead, which does NOT suffer from off gassing. (That is why it has so many medical applications). Off gassing is a very serious problem associated with PU’s and can last for a long period, especially if the PU is kept in a sealed container or restricted area.
