Does the host of the Olympic Games automatically qualify for all sport events?

Yes. Being the host of the Olympic games, they are already seeded/qualified in every team sports being contested in the Games and they will be given maximum entries in every individual events. But they can compete in the qualifying tournaments if they want to, and if they will qualified, their spot will be given to the next team who has a higher placing in that tournament. as in the other sports that relies on world ranking such as badminton, table tennis, tennis and beach volleyball, the host country will be given at least a spot in the tournament regardless of his/her world rankings. the host nation must also complied to the maximum alloted spot given to them. as in the case of badminton, where China has four players inside the top 20 world ranking in womens singles but they have to comply the alloted three spots given to them.
