Does the hospital have a lactation consultant and any breastfeeding education?
Yes, the OB department has lactation consultants available to visit new moms and their babies during the hospital stay. Moms can also visit a lactation consultant after discharge if any difficulties arise, and rent a breast pump if needed. We also offer a Breastfeeding and Infant Feeding seminar twice a month (once in Eagle and once in Vail) to prepare moms (and their partners) for the choices and possible challenges for feeding their newborn. Visit our calendar for dates.
