0

Ninety percent of health care executives somewhat or strongly agree that there needs to be better guidelines on how secondary electronic health record data should be used and shared, according to a PricewaterhouseCoopers survey. Eight percent of survey respondents said they somewhat disagree that there needs to be better guidelines on secondary data usage, while 2% said they strongly disagree. According to the survey, 66% of pharmaceutical companies, 65% of health care provider organizations and 54% of health care payers use some form of secondary health data. Results are based on a national survey of more than 700 executives from health care provider organizations, payers and pharmaceutical groups conducted from May to June 2009.
