The Goromonzi Project does not support an orphanage. Traditionally, in Shona communities in Zimbabwe, extended family members care for orphaned children. In face of the AIDS epidemic, the family units have been strained to the breaking point, as grandparents and older relatives struggle to support as many as 20 of their young orphaned family members.
