Does the General Public Support Motorcycle Helmet Laws?
The NHTSA conducted a survey in 2000 asking random people whether or not they supported motorcycle helmet laws. They found that women were more likely to support mandatory helmet laws than men (88 versus 72 percent), people who didn’t ride a motorcycle were more than likely those who do (83 versus 51 percent) and those who lived in a state where motorcycle helmet laws were mandatory as opposed to those who didn’t (84 versus 75 percent).
