Does the Frys ISP support UNIX and other alternative operating systems?
Fry’s ISP allows the use of UNIX and other alternative operating systems. In particular, we know that users of Solaris, RedHat, Debian, and Mandrake Linux are able to use our dial up service. Our tech support staff can assist with basic questions and problems on these platforms, but will not always be able to answer specific questions due to the staggering variety of unix flavors. Give us a try with the knowledge that you have 30 days free to see if we satisfy your needs. PLEASE NOTE that nearly all winmodems (or “controllerless modems”) are completely incompatible with any operating system other than Microsoft Windows (an exception are the Lucent and IBM chipsets). Also please note that we explicitly do not support hardware or OS-related issues such as modem installation and system administrator
