Does the Frys ISP allow telnet access to my email? How about pine or mutt?
No, the Fry’s ISP does not allow telnet access to customer email accounts. We do allow unrestricted POP3 access, so customers are able to receive their email using any mail client compliant with the POP3 protocol. Please note that although it is possible to receive your email using POP3, you will still have to find a different SMTP server than mail.frys.com to send mail if you are not connected to our network. To prevent unsolicited commercial email (“spam”), we do not allow access to our SMTP server from outside our network.
