No, it doesn’t. Any insurance coverage must be paid directly to the car rental company. There are some credit card companies offering an automatic coverage for their cardholders if they rent a car. This is something you must check with your credit card company. Otherwise you have to pay a compulsory basic insurance of US$ 15.– to US$ 20.– according to the car type. With this basic insurance you have to cover the deposit of US$ 750.– to 1’500.– (according to car type) in case of any damage. You can exclude this risk with an voluntary additional insurance of US$ 9.– to 10.– per day.
