Does the Federal Stimulus Package provide another extension of unemployment?
No. Claimants currently can qualify for up to 26 weeks of state unemployment benefits and up to 33 weeks of federal extended benefits. The federal extended benefits were scheduled to expire at the end of March. Now, an individual can collect the 33 weeks through the end of the year, but the stimulus provisions do not provide for any additional weeks.
