Does the FastCluster development environment support Cross-Development Tools?

0

No. The FastCluster development environment does not use Cross-Development Tools (namely tools running on one platform and generating executables for another platform). In all cases the tools are Native Tools which is the preferred approach. Any computer with the same architecture (PowerPC with AltiVec) as the FastCluster nodes can be used to develop, test and run code. This is because all the development tools are running on the PowerPC AltiVec (Native Tools). Another option is for users to log on to the FastCluster node via IP Connectivity. For example, a user can be sitting at a PC or SUN Solaris workstation and log on to the FastCluster for development. In all cases the files can be on any of the workstations (Apple, PC or SUN) accessible via NFS mount by any FastCluster node.
