Does the fashion at Mantra follow international trends or instincts?
It’s a bit of both. One keeps in touch with what people are wearing in the world as well as what people would wear here. And does the buying cycle follow a summer/winter pattern? We’re not big enough to place orders so it’s not that scheduled but the buying cycle at Mantra is definitely planned. We bring in new stocks every two to three months. How big is the market for western wear in Pakistan? Is there a reason to why Mantra hasn’t branched out? It’s true that any other store would have branched out in four years. Well the market is growing but still is not as large as one would have hoped it to be. It still has a long way to go. But it is picking up and now we do have plans of opening up a store in Lahore soon. What kind of clientele do you target at Mantra? We try to target middle income groups. We target people who are interested in fashion – individuals who like to dress up as opposed to those who restrict western wear to jeans and t-shirts. Prices do get a little steep but we co
