the exSILentia tool will enable you to determine a required SIL for a Safety Instrumented Function and calculate the achieved SIL for that Safety Instrumented Function. The calculation of achieved SIL is driven by an equipment database containing failure rates for hundreds of products. In that the exSILentia tool incorporates FMEA techniques used to determine component failure rates and because of the SIF voting selections it incorporates FTA analysis.
