im pretty sure thats the only meaning unless they are passed to an offspring. abnormal cells occur during cellular reproduction, when one cell tries to duplicate itself and an error occurs genetically its called an abnormal cell and this divides and divides at an fast pace which is cancer and which is also why cancer spreads so easily, but it might be different for the offspring idk, it would be interesting to know for sure though if you get any other answers it would be great if you told me!

If it is the result of a cervical swab, ‘abnormal cells’ can refer to cells that are showing a pre-cancerous condition. This doesn’t mean they will become cancerous, and if they are treated, in most cases they will not.
