UK doesn’t have the fairest uncorrupted government in the World. They lag behind Australia NZ and the Nordic countries who are on top as regards to transparency. The expenses scandal came in handy and just in time for the Tories and was nicely exploited. I can’t believe it was a sheer coincidence. But you are right it show a certain level of transparency. In France all the MP’S re corrupt to the core and such a scandal wouldn’t be possible in France all the MP’s would support each other and yes it would be worse but in France there is a tolerance for excessive expenses.
