The VP6 Concurrency feature was added in v8.0.9.0. VP6 Concurrency allows the encode process to take advantage of multiple cores/processors, yielding a potentially significant gain in performance. Flix Engine is not itself SMP-aware. Nevertheless, concurrent encodes on an SMP system with an SMP-aware kernel will realize a performance increase even when not using the VP6 Concurrency feature.
