Once it is not pressent in the brain, the pre synaptic cells that releace the neurotransmitters will start to take up some of the neurotransmitters again, causing the causing the levels between the presynaptic cell (releasing neurotransmitters) and post synaptic cell (cell recieving signals via the neurotranmitters) to drop. If your brain is handling the neurotransmitters correctly, the cells will adjust on their own, realeasin enough neurotransmitters, not re taking too much. So levels shouldnt drop too much as long as you taper off.
