Does the Econo-Heater need a thermostat?
Because it is a low-wattage heater, Econo-Heaters are meant to be left on all the time. Once the correct size/number of heaters have been selected for your area, the temperature tends to self-regulate to a very comfortable 21-22 degrees due to the principals of natural warm air convection and internal/external temperature differentials. It has a manual on/off switch. We currently carrry the PSP300 plug-in programmable thermostat for personalized temperature control and even greater energy savings. Plugs directly into your wall outlet with no hard-wiring required! If you choose, you can also hard-wire Econo-Heaters. As with all electrical work, we recommend that you consult a qualified electrician before doing so.
