Does The East Ridge Mayor Speak Truthfully?
– And Reply posted July 18, 2008 The first of July I called the residence of our mayor, Mike Steele, to discuss the proposed 47-cent tax increase in East Ridge. We discussed the recent additional cost of living expenses and I stated this new tax would have a great effect on a lot of our citizens, especially the elderly. He stated to me that the insurance provider for the city had described the lighting at Camp Jordan ballpark as unsafe and that they had to be replaced or the insurance carrier would possibly cancel. In a later conversation with Commissioner Manning, he stated that was not true – that new lighting was wanted for different areas of the park.
