Does the earth orbit the moon?
Kinda. In fact, the earth and moon each orbit a common point called the barycenter. If the earth and moon were of equal size and mass, it’s easy to see that they would orbit around each other, or more correctly, they would each orbit around their center of gravity– a point mid-way between them. As you imagine one of the objects getting less massive, the center of gravity moves toward the more massive one. In the case of our earth-moon system, the center, also called barycenter, happens to be within the earth! But there is still an orbital component for the earth, and you would observe this as a wobble if you could observe earth from the right reference frame.
