Does the Earth go through a complete cycle of phases from the Moon?
Yes it does. If you use three balls to represent the sun, earth and moon during a complete lunar cycle, you will see that from the moon, when earthlings see the full moon, lunar observers will see a new earth in darkness. When earthlinks see a new moon, lunar observers will see a full earth. Earthshine is always more intense and noticible around the time of the first crescent moon where the bright cresent can be seen in addition to a faint glow of light from the dark part of the moon. This is caused by the light from the full earth reflected off of the moon. The earth takes a full lunar month to go through its phases.
