Yes. The E8000 server board has six dedicated PCI slots and one ISA slot for add-in RAID controller cards to incorporate hardware RAID. As a zero-channel RAID solution, the Adaptec ARO 1130U2 add-in PCI RAID controller is available from Adaptec. For RAID control, the ARO 1130U2 is compatible with the Adaptec* AIC-7896 SCSI controller and uses the E8000 server board’s PCI bus and SCSI channels. The ARO 1130U2 adapter must be installed in the special PCI/ARO Slot, slot 4 because that slot contains the additional interrupt control pins. The PCI/ARO slot is easily identified as it is the longest PCI slot on the board. Additionally, the Cabrillo-C chassis’ six “hot-swap” SCA drives make it particularly well suited for a fault-tolerant environment where a server with hardware RAID implemented is advantageous.
