Does the DPS24 use data compression when recording?
Absolutely not! Data compression is not a good thing as the quality of the audio is degraded. In fact, some products actually reduce the number of usable track unless you use compression. Not so with the DPS24. The DPS24 uses linear recording to make absolutely sure that what you record is exactly what you get during playback. Some other systems also significantly reduce the number of usable tracks at 24bit linear vs. 16bit resolution. Not the DPS24.
