Does the dowry system still exist in India?
Dowry system still exists very much in India & dowries are taken directly or indirectly. India is a hot country, very difficult to live in for foreigners particularly people of western background. In-laws don’t accept western spouses in general. If husband lives separately, some problems are reduced to some extent but the society in general doesn’t accept & most of the people are not co-operative. Caste, religious, communal , lingual & regional hatred is at its peak there, worse than so called apartheid of South Africa in pre-Nelson Mandela period. People stare the couples who have anyone of white complexion & of western background. They tease them very much too. When foreigners visit monuments like The Taj, they’re instructed for not at all talking to any local person as they may go berserk at any time on any point. No foreigner is advised to travel alone as that may be robbed & killed too. No lady of the west should ever tour India alone. Way of living completely contradicts with wes
