Does the doctor speak English?
Telephones are answered in English throughout the International SOS network. All International SOS doctors speak English–in fact most are Australian, American or British. How will the doctor help me? If you are calling for information, the International SOS doctor will either answer your question immediately or call you back. If your question requires research, the doctor may fax a response to you. If you are ill or injured, the doctor will establish in discussion what is wrong and how it happened. This is crucial as it allows the doctor to determine what treatment you require, its urgency and how and where you should be treated. How will International SOS arrange the right treatment? If your condition is not serious, advice and reassurance from the International SOS doctor may be sufficient.
