Does the doctor have to be present on the day of testing?
As long as all paperwork for the day of testing is filled out and signed by the doctor (mainly the Letter of Medical Necessity), the doctor does not have to physically be present in the office on the day of testing. By having the Letter of Medical Necessity filled out and signed, the technician is performing all testing under the doctors supervision.
