Does the District support the need for full funding of the animal shelter on New York Avenue?

0

The District distributed a Request for Proposals (RFP) for comprehensive animal control and animal disease-control services. The services include impoundment of stray animals, animal control law enforcement, dangerous dog investigations, animal bite investigations, pickup of injured and orphaned wildlife, transportation of wildlife to rehabilitation sites, citizen complaint investigations, humane euthanasia, animal vaccinations, outreach and education, animal housing, and other services. Prospective bidders formally bid the amounts that they think it will cost to fulfill the requirements of the RFP. The current contract expires on June 27, 2001, and the District expects no interruption of services. The District seeks to award the contract to the most qualified contractor and expects to select an animal services contractor with excellent customer service skills and the highest level of competency.
