Does the Disaster Housing Plan allow for the use of travel trailers?
Yes. The FEMA Administrator may, in unusual and extraordinary disaster conditions, authorize the use of travel trailers, but only for use on private property; only when the disaster victim is expected to have a permanent housing solution within 6 months; and only if those units meet required air quality levels. FEMA will only consider travel trailers in its existing inventory or those purchased “off-the-lot”.
