Does the department have an instrument collection ?
The department possesses a variety of orchestral and non-orchestra instruments that are available for short-term loan. The more unusual instruments include items from our medieval and early music collection (including viols, shawms, baroque violins, etc.) The department is also equipped with two harpsichords, a chamber organ, a 3 manual baroque style organ, orchestral and jazz percussion, and a collection of period keyboard instruments. A large-scale Javanese gamelan completes our instrumental facilities.
