Yes, mostly through collaborative research projects with these other organizations. Faculty members write grant proposals and have ongoing funded research programs with other universities and national labs; our graduate students have spent summers working at corporate labs and government research labs; and we receive a wide variety of support from grants and contracts with the computer industry.
