Does the Democrat Party really have a Big Tent?

I would say that you’re both right and wrong. On the one hand, money is a part of the game, and it always will be. Same goes for the Republican Party. Neither party has done much about illegal immigration even though both claim to oppose it. Why? Because they don’t want to alienate all the business owners that make lots of money off of illegal labor and then contribute to both parties. So yes, money is a factor, but it’s a factor for both parties. But principles are also involved. Democrats took up global warming, for example, as one of their causes. They didn’t have to. They could have gone the other way with it, and it still would have been profitable for them as they would have drawn in the support (and money) of business owners who don’t want to spend money on going “green.” On the other hand, neither party has a “big tent,” which is the primary reason I’m an independent. There is little room for disagreement in either party. Look at what happened to Colin Powell, Ron Paul and Joe
