Does the DDO accept high school co-op students?
Co-op students are only accepted at the downtown (St. George) campus of the University of Toronto, and only through the University of Toronto’s mentorship program, and only at the rate of about one student every other year. It is also worth contacting the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics directly at http://www.astro.utoronto.ca/ and inquiring after profs who might accept a mentorship student this year. 2. How about job shadowing? Career interviews? No. Any practicing professional, in any discipline, spends his/her day going about their tasks, usually in a prescribed fashion. A short list of these tasks might include lab work, computer work, contact with collaborators, reading the latest journal, attending a seminar, fiddling with some mathematical detail, or preparing the nth draft of a publication.
