Does the data stay encrypted on the network?
Data encrypted with TDE is decrypted when it is read back from database file. Thus if this data goes on the network, it is clear-text data. However, the data can be encrypted using Oracle’s network encryption solution (Example), which is included with TDE in the Oracle Advanced Security option. Oracle’s network encryption solution encrypts all data traveling to and from a database over SQL*Net.
