Essentially, yes, it will work the same if you have setup the dive computer properly so that ScubaLink is able to find the DAN DL7 export file, then the data can be read and transfered into ScubaTrak. As an example, let us examine a Smartcom, which is a DL7 compatible computer. In the case of the Smartcom, the software allows the user to select the type of DAN file. The only problem here is that it does not show the three character extension, if there is one, after the period in the name of the file, therefore a user must look to see what file name was created following the export. A note of caution here: if you select a DL7 Level 3 type of export you must be certain that all of the personal information has been properly recorded in the SmartTrak user setup. If any of the personal information is incomplete the data will not export. An option here is to simply create a Level 1 file and named it “DANDL7”.
