Does the current Florida Railroad Company have any records of employment or financial records from the original Florida Railroad Company or successor lines?
A. No. Most, if not all, of those records were lost in a huge fire, when the headquarters building of the Florida Central & Peninsular Railroad Company burned to the ground either in the very late 1800’s, or early 1900. The FC&P was the last of the successor lines of the original Florida Railroad Company before the Seaboard Airline Railway assumed that company in 1902.
