Does the County have a Tree Trimming Program?
The county does have an annual tree contract with West Coast Arborists. The service consists of road right-of–way trimming, sidewalk clearance trimming and aesthetic trimming of trees within our right-of-way. County areas are divided by grids which are trimmed on a three year schedule. The service also includes removal of damaged trees and any trees creating a public hazard. WCA is on call 24 hours a day for emergency response to any tree issues that arise. WCA also provides tree service on our flood control channels, providing clearance for maintenance vehicles on the service road and removing growth on the slopes to discourage homeless encampments, and to reduce fuel for fires.
