The Proto-Sound 2.0 conversion kit is backed by a 90-day warranty valid only when the conversion kit is installed by a participating M.T.H. Authorized Service Center. While the electronics used in the conversion kit are very durable, they are not resistant to short circuits caused by an improper installation. A segment of the wire harness pinched during reassembly or worn through by contact with a moving part (wheels, axles, flywheels, etc.) can cause the circuit board to fail. Because of the importance of a proper installation, M.T.H. feels that its warranty can only be offered when a participating Authorized Service Center performs the conversion.
