Does the concrete ever crack, flake or chip?
Yes, hairline cracking may occur. However, this does not affect the structural integrity of the concrete. It can be patched or left visible, thus adding character to the look of the concrete. As with marble and granite, concrete corners and edges can chip if struck by a hard object. Hairline cracks can also develop, but these are not structural failures; rather, they are inherent characteristics of the material.
