No. For the same reason it didn’t lead to a paperless office, as everyone thought it would. Computers may streamline some jobs and make others redundant, but they also create jobs that would not exist without them, so it balances out. Like any major technological innovation, the computer causes a shift in employment patterns. But that’s all.
