Does the compaction of Dreft powder laundry detergent truly provide a benefit for the environment?
P&Gs compaction of Dreft powder laundry detergent is a right step for the environment. A conversion to a compacted formula is consistent with the companys strong position on sustainability and sustainable development. At P&G, we view sustainability as an opportunity and stimulus to innovate and to improve consumers lives, while also making important contributions to environmental quality and safety. The compacted formula allows for the use of smaller cartons while still offering the same number of loads. P&G powder compaction helps to decrease energy consumption, water use, and greenhouse gas emissions. Like all of our other detergent products, the new Dreft compacted powder detergent has been evaluated for environmental safety, and has been proven to be safe under normal conditions of use. Our Life-Cycle Analysis found that there were benefits across all environmental indicators.
