How are complaints or alleged violations handled? Once a complaint is received, a Notice of Complaint is issued to the property owner in question. This gives the property owner a chance to respond to the alleged violation. A site inspection is made to see if in fact there is a violation. Other neighbors or agencies may be contacted to confirm violations. Staff strives to work with property owners to correct violations. Nine times out of ten, owners cooperate and bring their property into compliance. For that one out of ten owner
