You can use our closed captioning tools regardless of whether you’re using HD or SD for either your source footage or your delivery format. If you are delivering to an HD XDCAM MXF format, you can embed the closed captioning information into that MXF file. Vegas Pro 9.0e will simultaneously create an SCC file that contains the captioning information. If you are delivering to something other than HD XDCAM, the captioning information will not be embedded into the file, but Vegas Pro 9.0e will still create an SCC file that you can send along with your rendered video file so that the two can be combined in a later process outside of Vegas Pro 9.0e.
