Does the Cannabis Sativa seed contain any opiates or the psychoactive chemical THC?
One of the questions often asked concerning Cannabis sativa is whether it contains any psychoactive substances. Other marijuana varieties contain a chemical called THC (tetrahydro cannabinol) in the sticky resin produced by the flowering tops of the female plants before the seeds mature. However, the strains of hemp grown for commercial purposes, like the ones used in Tai-Ma, have no resin content and after the seeds are properly hulled and cleaned there is no THC remaining. There are also no opiates in the Cannabis Sativa.
